A well-known Phoenix haunt, Hotel San Carlos gained its paranormal recognition in the 1920s with the death of Leone Jensen. Jensen, 22 years old at the time, fell to her death from the rooftop of Hotel San Carlos. Some say she committed suicide when she found out her fiance no longer wanted to marry her, others say she was pushed. Now her spirit haunts the hotel and has occasionally been seen in guest's rooms and on the roof.

Ghost of Leone Jensen

Went to this as a After Hour spot for a work party. I heard that this place was haunted. So me and a friend came to the hotel at the same time. As soon as we walked in I felt this place was creepy especially down the long hallways where you can see the huge chandelier lights. We got the old school elevator to go to level 5 where I believe the pool area was. We hit 5 instead of going up it took us down to the Basement where the doors opened up and Nobody got on or was around the area. We both were like That was strange. The doors closed then it let us out on the 5th floor. While there me and my friend were sitting in the pool patio area all by ourselves talking when all of a Sudden this smoke like mist appeared from my left side and floated along for maybe three to five seconds close to me then disappeared.....I remember looking around for anyone smoking near us or around us and nobody and I do mean nobody was smoking. I cannot stand the smell of cigarette smoke. I went down to the lobby to tell them what I experienced and he said WOW!!!! Congratulations you just saw Leone Jensen!!! She only appears to certain people. She likes to check in on her guest!!!! Still leaves me speechless today and this was about 9 or 10 years ago.....I remember going down the narrow stairwell and it feeling creepy as if you are being watched.....But after what I witnessed I never felt scared of seeing this thick white mist. I felt care and love like she was happy I was there enjoying the pool area....I can still remember seeing that thick white smoke mist and how it just was floating along and moving like waves then it just vanished into thin air....AWESOME AMAZING EXPERIENCE THAT I STILL WILL NEVER FORGET.

It was spooky to say the least...

My hubby got us a room one day. He was at a ball game with the guys and I checked in alone, ready for some me time. Drink in hand, I made my way up to the pool. I really enjoyed myself; it's gorgeous. Eventually he made his way back to meet up with me. The drinks were flowing and eventually we left to see the sights around town.. We made it back, nothing was amiss. We settled in and went to bed. Upon waking up, I noticed through the shut doors of the armoire that our tv was on. It was just snow; static. No sound. I went to gather my luggage and it was soaking wet. Literally dripping from the luggage rack into the carpet. When we checked out, we told the front desk that there may be a leak or something and let him know what happened. The guy totally brushed it off. Non chalantly saying that things tend to happen that one can't quite explain. We left in awe, until we read about the supposed hauntings. It was the strangest thing!
